Sci:Pro Calculator v1.2.1 is now available

By Jerry News, Applications With Comments

The latest version of Sci:Pro Calculator (v1.2.1) is now available in the App Store. This version adds support for selectable display modes, new programmer-mode functions, bug fixes, and some other features that have been requested by users. The biggest change for existing users of Sci:Pro Calculator has been to the Programmer Mode layout which needed to be modified slightly to accommodate new function keys such as a modulo operator. Scientific and Basic Mode key layouts have not changed but now support a user-selectable display format setting that can be configured to use either Standard, Scientific, or Engineering notations. As always, we would like to thank all of the Sci:Pro Calculator users that have helped to improve the app by providing valuable feedback, feature requests and bug reports—your contributions are greatly appreciated. For a complete summary of changes in this release please read the remainder of this post.

Sci:Pro Calculator v1.2.0 ready for release

By Jerry News, Applications With Comments

The beta test of the latest version of Sci:Pro Calculator is complete and the app has been submitted to Apple for review. Version 1.2.0 features an improved floating point engine, bug fixes, and some additional functionality requested by users. We expect the new release to be available in the App Store soon. This update should improve the stability of the app and eliminate the occasional rounding errors that some users were experiencing. Handling of international number formats has also been greatly improved and the current region format of the device is used when formatting numbers for the main display, the history view, and when parsing values for paste operations. Thanks to all the Sci:Pro Calc users that provided feedback, bug reports, and helped us with the ongoing improvements to the app—your contributions are greatly appreciated!

Sci:Pro Calculator Bug Report

By Jerry News, Applications With Comments

A bug in Sci:Pro Calculator has been discovered that sometimes results in the wrong value being displayed after dividing one by some values. (e.g. ‘1 / 9 * 9 = 0’). This particular example turned out to be a bug in a string output formatting function that incorrectly displays zero instead of the correct value of one in some cases. This bug has been corrected and submitted to the App Store and the new version (v1.0.2) will be available as soon as it has been approved. We apologize for any problems this has caused anyone using the current release of the application.
